Wading in even deeper to the health care arena, Amazon has announced thatcustomers can now pay for appropriate purchases, such as coldmedications and glucometers, with their health savings accounts andflexible spending accounts.

CNBC reports that the move allows people with FSAsand HSAs to pay Amazon for out-of-pocket medical expenses withpretax dollars. According to an Amazon spokesperson, “Customers nowhave the flexibility to use FSA/HSA cards on a wide range ofeligible over-the-counter purchases, eliminating the need to payout-of-pocket or submit receipts for reimbursement.” Prescriptionpurchases may not be far behind.
