We still expect that the way we previously engaged can be replicated with just a few tweaks in the digital world, but those social constructs are being stressed, because when digital connections replace human ones, the human can get lost. This is nothing better than when like-minded strangers are tossed together for an industry conference, ready for mingling and chatting — the lifeblood of networking. According to a new survey of 700 people conducted by The Harris Poll and Code & Theory, 44% said they expect virtual events to have some form of networking.
