Business mogul Daymond John got real about financial preparedness and deal-making, track sessions topics ranged from inspiration to compliance tips, and the Broker of the Year was announced on day two of the 2023 BenefitsPRO Broker Expo on Tuesday in Atlanta. John, the entrepreneur and co-host of Shark Tank, sat for an interview with BenefitsPRO editor-in-chief Paul Wilson and took questions from the audience as the morning keynote address. He spoke candidly multiple topics, including how he hires people, how he first got started in the fashion industry and teaching children financial preparedness. The day's eight breakout sessions followed four tracks: education, motivation, innovation and administration. They sandwiched a second keynote of the day. For the afternoon address, health futurist and medical economist Jeffrey C. Bauer shared his perspective on the health care industry's woes and what can be done to fix them. Highlighting the day was the announcement of Nancy Giacolone of Olympic Crest Insurance as the 2023 BenefitsPRO Broker of the Year. Before the big reveal, Giacolone joined the other finalists for a panel discussion of the benefits industry, their careers and more. Rounding out the day was a blowout networking party at the Hard Rock Cafe.
