As benefit advisors, a significant portion of our time is dedicated to educating employers on attracting and retaining talent through a comprehensive benefit offering. Considering the seemingly never ending passage of new legislation and the increasing complexity of benefit programs, the role of the advisor is continually evolving. Our extensive skill set encompasses a number of areas, including creative plan design, benefits compliance, benefit administration technology, employee engagement, data analytics, claim management, vendor selection, contract review, negotiation, and human resources consulting.

The rapidly changing landscape of benefits has placed considerable pressure on advisors and their teams to perform at increasingly higher levels. The necessity to adapt and enhance our collective skill set is more significant than ever. And this pressure toward upskilling permeates from the top down, affecting every employee in our agencies. If our employees are experiencing heightened expectations for upskilling and overall output, how are we, as their leaders, supporting them?
