The new AI framework does let states enforce general consumer protection and fraud prevention laws against AI developers and users.
The framework does not provide exemptions for state efforts to apply health care or insurance laws.
California, Illinois, Nevada and Utah all have state laws that affect use of AI in mental health therapy.
