Rep. Glenn Grothman, R-Wis., wants to require ERISA plans to close the gap between the patients' cost for the oral and IV versions of chemo drugs.

The hospital giant's chief financial officer told investors that consumer sentiment is also affecting collections.

Thatch, a company that supports the arrangements formerly known as ICHRAs, has attracted a list of backers that includes ADP.

"People are worried that it is the opening salvo into promoting junk plans that don't meet the ACA requirements," said Katie Keith, director of the Center for Health Policy and the Law at the Georgetown University Law Center.

"In the richest country in the world, medical debt should not be a threat to working people's livelihood," said Bobby Scott, D-Va.

Producer groups are not sure what kinds of producers a mysterious new batch of guidance might affect.
