What began last month with approximately 31,000 registered nurses and other health care professionals striking at more than two dozen Kaiser Permanente hospitals and clinics in California and Hawaii has expanded to include an estimated 3,000 to 4,000 pharmacy employees and lab technicians.

"Although MultiCare received repeated assurances from Change that these issues would be addressed, this did not occur," the lawsuit said.

The "web-based supermarkets for health insurance" could change, but officials predict they'll still serve more than 15 million people.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., are launching the fight in a world where federal PBM transparency mandates are now law.

"The alleged violations by MultiCare show a wanton disregard for ethics and the medical principle to do no harm," Washington Attorney General Nick Brown said in a statement.

The company said its 27,000 pharmacists will guide customers in applying the discounts and support related programs, including NovoCare enrollment and reduced pricing on fertility medications through the TrumpRx Fertility initiative.
