While many know the important reasons for having life insurance, some areunaware of additional benefits that may be included with coverage.Some carriers offer services to help employees take care ofimportant financial matters.

One often underused service is financial planning assistance,which can help with everything from will preparation and funeralplanning services, to basic financial planning and identity theftassistance. Some carriers also have travel assistance benefits,which can help plan trips, assist with replacing lost passports orcredit cards, and help out if an emergency situation arises awayfrom home.

Employers should bring up these additional benefits — whichusually come standard with a group carrier's policy — as it canencourage enrollment and help employees ensure their financialmatters are taken care of, should the unexpectedhappen.
