You often hear business leaders talk about how their team members are their biggest asset and theirtop priority. I like to think of managing a company like a top-tiersports team; everyone plays different positions, but we all need tobe on the same page strategy-wise for us to win.

Initially, our business planning was performed annually and rooted in complex, wordy documentsthat made it difficult to align all the different teams and totrack and measure progress. I knew we needed a way to set ourcorporate priorities so that every team andindividual could align their work to them.
