New York-Presbyterian Hospital uses anticompetitive contract restrictions that deny New Yorkers the choice of lower-cost health care options, the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Justice Department alleged in a lawsuit filed on Thursday.

"People report using AI for health information in various ways but most commonly to look for general information about health conditions or symptoms," according to the latest KFF Tracking Poll on Health Information and Trust.

On Thursday, the company introduced Avery, a generative AI companion designed to create a simpler, more coordinated health care experience for members while empowering customer advocates to more efficiently respond to members.

The company deducted $40 from each paycheck of tobacco users, the lawsuit said.

The proposed settlement would "resolve all of the claims against the Caremark respondents" and already has been approved by CVS, FTC attorneys and the FTC's competition and consumer protection bureaus."

The letter, which was submitted in response to an agency request for information about how national securities exchanges and ATS platforms should handle crypto asset trading, made several recommendations.
