Consumers identify health care at the center of the affordability crisis, above food, rent and utilities. Affordability remains a concern for people with various types of insurance, from individual market plans to employer-sponsored insurance.
"Current economic conditions mean employers are under immense pressure to manage costs while remaining invested in employee wellbeing at a time when their workforce is also stressed," said Todd Katz, head of U.S. Group Benefits at MetLife.
"Their criminal scheme endangered vulnerable patients, put entire communities at risk and undermined the integrity of Medicare and Medicaid," said Scott J. Lambert, acting inspector general for investigations for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General.
Forty-five percent of prrivately insured adults aged 21 to 64 said they trust AI tools as much as or more than their provider, while 55% said they trust their provider more.
Although 9 in 10 U.S. adults have health insurance, having sick, uninsured or underinsured family members may lead to medical bills that put a strain on household budgets, according to a Peterson-KFF Health System Tracker report.
"We will continue to hold accountable insurers that knowingly submit inaccurate or unsupported diagnoses to improperly inflate reimbursement," said Brett A. Shumate, assistant attorney general in the Justice Department's Civil Division.
