Retirement savers invested in equity mutual funds in 401(k) plans paid an average of 0.58 percent in fees last year, down from 0.63 percent in 2012.

Its American United Life Insurance Co. announced Tuesday the completion of its first pension liability settlement in 20 years.

Investors pulled out more money than they put into U.S. equity mutual funds for the second month in a row in June, reclaiming $8.3 billion the most for that category in 18 months.

Among millennials who have had a go at figuring out how much theyll need to retire, 52 percent had guessed while only 10 percent actually used some sort of retirement calculator or worksheet.

But only 60 percent of workers believe that those who save in a retirement savings plan are likely to have a secure retirement.
