In January, the insurance brokerage, HUB International, became aware of a data breach when they identified unusual activity within their network. After an initial search, the brokerage discovered various documents have been copied without permission. However, at the time, the victims were not listed.

HUB launched a full forensic investigation into the stolen documents and then released a notice confirming the initial analysis came to a close July 27. The process of notifying the affected parties began when the initial search ended.
