Martin O'Malley, the new Social Security commissioner, is promising to overhaul the agency's system of clawing back $23 billion it claims was wrongly sent to beneficiaries, saying it "just doesn't seem right or fair."
Hospital system pricing is closely related to mergers and acquisitions, as consolidations drive up already inordinate health care costs, according to the attorney general of North Carolina, where health care is a leading cause of personal debt.
Atrium Health has declared publicly that in 2019 it provided $640 million in services to Medicare patients that were never paid for.
