The cyberattack on UnitedHealth's Change Healthcare, which is struggling to restore paralyzed billing systems, is "the most significant and consequential incident of its kind" in history, according to the American Hospital Association.
As small hospitals across the country have been buffeted by the ill economic winds of the COVID-19 pandemic, California announced on Thursday the creation of the distressed hospital no-interest loan fund.
The therapists and the National Union of Healthcare Workers counter that the managed-care giant has difficulty attracting clinicians because its mental health services have a poor reputation.
Starting Jan. 1, California will be the first state to offer subsidies to those who make too much money to qualify for the federal tax credit.
