"Many interactions that support coordination, learning, mentoring, problem solving and attachment to the firm occur informally and repeatedly through face-to-face contact," the report said.

The majority of employees (85%) are experiencing significant workplace stress, almost one-third (29%) fear they can't make ends meet on a full-time salary, and 81% say they have some desire to change careers entirely.

"Though they provide health information in different ways, the growing use of these technologies suggests that adults are looking beyond traditional health care sources," according to KFF officials.

Moreover, satisfying that workforce demand may affect employee performance and wellbeing, leading to measurable business impact.
