New report finds that Gen Z is setting aside more earnings for retirement than any other generation.

The rather lackluster performance of markets this year could see an average rate of return for state pensions at -6%.

Retirees are facing challenges not seen in other generations. These challenges are creating risks when it comes to their retirement plan.

"There has been a meaningful reduction in state pension funded status. The number of states that were above 90% as of the end of 2021 was 17. We are projecting for 2022 that it's going to be down to just seven," says Anthony Randazzo, executive director of the Equable Institute.
