Why is medical insurance seen by most as an “I've got to have it” benefit, while disability income protection is viewed as a “why do I need it” benefit?
If you're fascinated by an idea, you will not only respond favorably (buy it), you will also continue to favor it (own it) and potentially become an advocate (sell it).
Last month, we considered some principles of behavioral economics as they apply to enrollment. This month, let's consider techniques to help influence employee behavior.
Because the voluntary-enrollment process involves helping people make good decisions in a short period of time, all of us involved in enrollment are becoming behavioral economists.
The voluntary market is a great distribution channel, because the typical shopping process is disrupted. The process typically asks customers to take several steps in order to make a purchase.
Supplemental health product development is hot for a couple of reasons. One is the numbers: According to LIMRA, collective sales of these products in employer-related markets are up 5 percent over 2016.
